Unilite has grown over the last few years, further strengthening their position as one of the leading global flashlight manufacturers. With such continued growth, the business experienced growing pains and needed to move to a larger, more suitable premises to not only facilitate the previous growth but to allow for a continued and future expansion. Unilite did just that with their new premises ‘The LAB’, opened in the town of Redditch, Worcestershire in November. This continues their affinity with the town and keeps their location in the heart of the United Kingdom, perfect as a centralised meeting and distribution point. Now, 6 months on it is a time of reflection, to look back at what has happened and also to look forward to the following months.
The new premise was opened at the official Unilite opening party by Jim Troughton, the first team coach of Warwickshire cricket club. The event was a chance for staff and suppliers to meet, whilst enjoying food and entertainment. In addition to the festivities, over £750 was raised for the homeless charity St Basils, a charity that works throughout the Midlands to tackle youth homelessness.
One of the main reasons Unilite moved was to allow for an expansion of the current team, with a greater office space allowing this. Over the last few months, this happened, with 5 new employees joining the organisation. Within these roles are a: Customer Service Assistant, Social Media Executive, Communications Executive and New Sales Executive. Altogether this will allow for a better customer experience from our initial customer interaction, to our continued commitment to the best customer service.
The new headquarters has also allowed for new product lines to be introduced, with several new lights having joined the Unilite product family over the last 6 months and with many more planned in the pipeline. This is due to the greater space that the new warehouse can provide, with a tripling of capacity coming from the move.
From the official opening of the premises by Jim Troughton and the continued expansion of both the Unilite team and product family, the future for Unilite is looking very bright indeed.
